Developed by Joanne Lara, M.A., Autism Movement Therapy combines a structured program of movement and music, connecting the left and right hemispheres of the brain for a “whole brain” cognitive re-mapping approach that significantly increases concentration, focus, speech, language, and social interactions. Autism Movement Therapy is a natural strategy for individuals with autism and other developmental delays with limited speech and language communication skills and allows self-expression through music and dance while developing a strong sense of self-determination and independence.

#It’s all about the smiles!

Each year, these wonderful folks collect toys to bring SMILES to kids throughout our hometown, the Mohawk Valley.  Click the link above to see where you can drop off a new toy for a needy family this holiday season.

Thank you to everyone at Roser Communications, Birnie Bus, Fidelis and WKTV for making this possible each year!

It's All About the Smiles at the KEYS Program's "Smile Experience"!

Smiles were abound at the KEYS Program's summer Smile & Drive Experience held on Saturday, August 22nd at the Oswego County Quarter Midget Club Track in Fulton, NY!

This unique family experience is one of our special outreach programs providing a special family respite day at the track for families who have been impacted by pediatric cancer and serious illnesses. The day is full of family-fun and smiles, with each child suiting up and taking laps in one of our special USAC Quarter Midgets on the track and while their family and fellow KEYS families cheer them on in the stands!

All of our events include music and our Smile Experience is no exception!  Our amazing music therapist, Cindy Legwalia, created a fun and interactive drum circle so kids could move, groove, drum and smile along with Cindy!

We believe that cancer does not define a child, so any mention of illness stayed outside the gate of the track. Each child was free to just be the amazing, giggling, silly kid they are, enjoying a special Smile Experience with their family!

Special thanks to everyone at the Oswego County Quarter Midget Club who generously donated use of their track facility in order to help us create BIG smiles!

Paulie's Tractor Show at Granger's Farm!

KEYS kids and their siblings had a blast at our first annual “Paulie's Tractor Show at Granger's Farm” in Mexico on Sept 12th! Admission was FREE to the public with a tractor show, corn maze, hay rides, petting zoo, lots of pumpkins and smiles galore! Thank you to everyone who donated a raffle item for the event! Proceeds from the raffle benefitted our Paulie's Super Siblings program to grant wishes for siblings of kids battling cancer.  Special thanks to Granger's Farm who made this very special day possible!

On October 16, 2014 our KEYS Kids Ambassador and dear friend, 15 year old Hope Inslee, earned her angel wings after a courageous battle with cancer. Hope served as the representative and voice for KEYS kids across the country since May of 2013. Despite a difficult battle with cancer, Hope always had a smile to share with everyone she met. Hope's strength, positive attitude and amazing smile were an inspiration to all of us and all who knew her!

Thank you to everyone who sent messages and SMILES to the "Smiles for Hope" page on facebook. Your love and support meant so much to her and her family. Thank you for all you do to help to ensure that Hope's smile will shine on in the hearts of our KEYS kids for years to come! ♥

A special message from KEYS Founders Colleen & David Bennett ~

"Our beautiful cousin and superhero, Paulie Morley, went to heaven on July 17, 2014. We are so very humbled and grateful for all of the love, prayers, support and SMILES sent to Paulie, his Mom, Dad and sister Haiden, and our entire family throughout Paulie's journey. Thank you for sharing your hearts to ensure Paulie left this world surrounded by the LOVE and SMILES he so freely and generously gave to others!" ♥
