"Smile Experience" for KEYS Kids & Siblings Being Held on August 22nd!
The KEYS Program's summer Smile & Drive Experience is being held on Saturday, August 22nd from Noon until 2pm at the Oswego County Quarter Midget Club Track at 37 Howard Road in Fulton, NY!
This unique family experience is one of our special outreach programs providing a special family respite day at the track for families who have been impacted by pediatric cancer and serious illnesses. Family fun and over-the-top silliness are guaranteed to make the whole family smile! Our KEYS kids and their siblings get to suit up and drive one of our USAC Quarter Midget race cars on the race track. We have a corporate-style hospitality tent with refreshments, great music and fun for the whole family too. We believe that cancer does not define a child, so any mention of illness stays outside the gates of all of our Smile Experience events so each child can be the amazing, giggling, silly kid they are, enjoying a special Smile Experience with their family!
This year's event is EXTRA special as we will are hosting our first ever "Miles of Smiles" Track Walk immediately following the Smile Experience. We encourage walkers to come to the walk a little early so they can cheer on these amazing superheroes!
Our Smile Experience is provided at no cost the families we serve. If you or a family you know has been impacted by cancer and would like to participate, contact us at 315-363-6446 or email@example.com!
Special thanks to everyone at the Oswego County Quarter Midget Club who generously donate use of their track facility in order to create BIG smiles!

KEYS 9th Annual "Michael Sowich Memorial Golf Outing for KEYS Kids" Being Held in September to Honor Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month!
Our dear friend Michael “Mikey” Sowich was the true example of service, serving his country in the Army and as a firefighter and state fire instructor. Michael passed away at a fire training in Maryland doing what he did best...devoting his time to serve others. In 2007, we created the Michael Sowich Memorial Golf Outing to celebrate Mikey and his giving spirit!
Our KEYS Kids Ambassador Hope Inslee was our special guest at the golf outing these past few years, enjoying a day away from her cancer treatments surrounded by the love of those who supported her in her journey. On October 16, 2014, Hope lost her battle with cancer at the age of 15, but her beautiful smile and full of life spirit lives on in all of our hearts!
This year’s golf outing will take place in September, Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, to honor Hope and the over 12,500 kids who are diagnosed with pediatric cancer each year.

Paulie’s Super Siblings Officially Launches!
On July 17, 2014, superhero Paul “Paulie” Morley earned his angel wings after a valiant fight against ALL T-Cell Leukemia just a few months before his 3rd birthday. We are honored to announce that the KEYS Program and Paulie’s parents have partnered to create Paulie’s Super Siblings! This new program will provide assistance to the behind-the-scenes heroes, the siblings of kids battling cancer, who often feel lonely, left out and are in need of extra love, support and smiles.
“We are very happy to add this much needed program to our roster of patient support programs at KEYS,” said Colleen Bennett, KEYS Program Founder. “Paulie’s parents wanted to somehow provide support to siblings in memory of Paulie. They initially started researching creating Paulie’s Fight Foundation, but after talking more this past year, we thought it would be wonderful to combine forces and simply add Paulie’s Super Siblings to the roster of patient support programs we provide at the KEYS Program. Since Paulie is my cousin, and KEYS was created after the loss of my Dad to cancer, it is fitting we keep things in the family and that we add Paulie’s Super Siblings to our outreach. I know that would make my Dad and my little buddy Paulie smile!”
Angela Schuyler, Paulie’s mother, had the vision for Paulie’s Super Siblings and will be heading up the program. “Paulie’s Super Siblings is Angela’s idea and vision”, said Bennett.” She knows first-hand the struggles and needs of families who have a child battling cancer. Her strength, passion and drive to help families who are going through the same difficult journey is truly inspiring. She has some wonderful ideas and events planned to bring big smiles to these special superheroes!”

"Smile Experience" with Umphrey's McGee!
Members of the band Umphrey's McGee with Arthur and the KEYS family!
On February 20th, 2015, the KEYS Program partnered with the band Umphrey’s McGee and the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse to provide a special "Smile Experience" for one of our KEYS families who recently lost a child to cancer. The Smile Experience included a private Meet ’n Greet with the band during their sound check, followed by dinner and the concert. The band even provide VIP passes for Arthur to go backstage after the concert too!
“We are so thankful to Joel Cummins and the great guys in the band Umphrey’s McGee for working with us to provide this special respite experience for Arthur and his family,” said KEYS Founder Colleen Bennett. “Arthur plays guitar and loves music, so this was very special for him. The guys in the band made him feel so welcome and truly a part of the band. We can't thank them enough!"
The KEYS Program’s Smile Experience is a special respite program for families who have been impacted by cancer. The goal of the program is to provide families a break from the difficult challenges they face everyday so they can spend time doing something fun together as a family. Our philosophy is that cancer does not define a child so all thoughts and mention of illness stays outside the doors of all of our events. Every family who participates is just a wonderful, fun, loving family having an amazing smile experience together!
THANK YOU to Joel Cummins and the entire Umphrey's McGee band and crew for making Arthur feel so welcome! Special thanks to the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse for your hospitality, Charley Bielby for helping to coordinate this and to our awesome KEYS Smile Crew, Alex Finn, Mike and Leah Bennett, for helping to make it so special for Arthur and his family! ♥ #It's all about the smiles!
The KEYS Program is happy to announce it has been selected as a Crew Chief Charity by the Tony Stewart Foundation! The 2014 Grant Accelerator award of $10,000 will help us to continue to expand our music outreach so we may bring smiles to 7,000 kids this year!
The KEYS Program has a dream of delivering its music care packages to every child who is diagnosed with cancer by the year 2018 so that music can accompany each child from the time they are diagnosed and throughout every stage of their battle.
Thanks to the support of the Tony Stewart Foundation, the KEYS Program is one smile closer to that dream! ♥

On October 16, 2014 our KEYS Kids Ambassador and dear friend, 15 year old Hope Inslee, earned her angel wings after a courageous battle with cancer. Hope served as the representative and voice for KEYS kids across the country since May of 2013. Despite a difficult battle with cancer, Hope always had a smile to share with everyone she met. Hope's strength, positive attitude and amazing smile were an inspiration to all of us and all who knew her!
Thank you to everyone who sent messages and SMILES to the "Smiles for Hope" page on facebook. Your love and support meant so much to her and her family. Thank you for all you do to help to ensure that Hope's smile will shine on in the hearts of our KEYS kids for years to come! ♥
A special message from KEYS Founders Colleen & David Bennett ~

We are so very humbled and grateful for all of the love, prayers, support and SMILES sent to Paulie, his Mom, Dad and sister Haiden, and our entire family throughout Paulie's journey. Thank you for sharing your hearts to ensure Paulie left this world surrounded by the LOVE and SMILES he so freely and generously gave to others!" ♥
