The Month is halfway over, Valentine's Day has passed....BUT....we are still rocking, wearing our hearts on our sleeve!
Our Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve Month is a time when you can create BIG smiles by wearing the KEYS heart on your sleeve in support of kids battling cancer and kids who have been impacted by cancer!
Each sticker is just $2.50 and has room for you to write in the name of a friend or loved one that you want to honor! ( Click here to purchase a heart today!)
Be sure to wear them on your sleeve sometime during the month of February in honor of the amazing little superheroes we serve and the person you choose to honor or remember. ♥
As a society, we use the phrase "wear your heart on your sleeve" in a casual way to say that we are showing our intimate emotions in an honest and open manner.
The KEYS Program is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that was founded in 1993 by Central New York native and retired NASCAR Official, David Bennett and his wife Colleen, in memory of Colleen's father who passed away from cancer. The “Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve Weekend” was created as a special way to honor the memory of Colleen’s father.
“My Dad was a very caring and loving man,” said Colleen. “He gave the best hugs and had a very kind heart, especially for kids in need. Our friends and family would often say he ‘wore his heart on his sleeve’. Today, our “Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve Weekend” is held as a special way to honor my Dad, our KEYS kids and all of those, young and old, who have battled cancer.”
Winter can be a very lonely and isolating time for our KEYS kids. Our goal each year is to let our KEYS kids know they aren’t alone and that there are lots of folks out there who are thinking about them.
THIS YEAR....We have added some extra fun to this event--- we are looking for groups to pair up for a friendly competition with a shared goal of trying to outsell each other. Groups can be businesses, sports teams, school groups or whoever is ready for some fun and friendly competition to create smiles! Drop us a note if you want to join in the fun!
